I'm not a professional, or even and advanced player. I don't really know what sounds come with the Roland. I've been told "The Gentleman" upright piano sounds are exceptional from NI. I don't own a DAW so I'd be reliant on the software package that comes with the keyboard. There are some threads in the forums about the Roland, but information about the Kontrol A49 seems to be sparse.
I looked at the stock in Sweetwater and found the Roland A49 to fit my needs nicely, but the sales engineer also asked me to consider the Native Instuments Komplete Kontrol A49 for its advanced features and software suite.
I was looking for a compact MIDI keyboard to get back into practicing keyboard/piano playing with (and something that won't make me hate my tiny studio apartment more than I do now).
